New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s fans were left in shock as she revealed that she has been diagnosed with Myositis. Though, the actress assured that she will make full recovery according to the doctors treating her.

Taking to her social media handle on Saturday, Prabhu told that remission of the disease is taking longer than expected and she currently struggling with physical as well as emotional vulnerability.

She further wrote that at times when she feels that it’s hard to deal with any longer, the moment somehow passes, leaving her with a firm believe that she has moved a day closer to recovery. She ended her note saying, “This shall too pass”.

What is Myositis?

Myositis is a rare autoimmune disease that mostly causes inflammation in muscles. It is difficult to fully recover from the disease in most cases, and it causes severe muscle weakness along with skin rashes with time.

Causes

Various studies indicate that Myositis is caused by conditions that lead to muscle inflammation such as excessive drugs, alcohol, several infections, or an injury.

Symptoms

The disease consist of a wide range of symptoms which might get worse as time passes. The symptoms consist of weakness, fatigue, muscle inflammation and pain, difficulty in breathing and swallowing, nausea, diarrhoea, and infections.

Treatment

Various therapies and regular medication can help fight the disease or control it.
