New Delhi: It’s impossible to deny that Finland is a cheerful place. Finland has indeed been crowned the happiest nation on earth for the sixth consecutive year in the annual World Happiness Report, which evaluates worldwide happiness in more than 150 nations around the globe.
The report, which is supervised by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is produced every year on March 20 in honor of the International Day of Happiness. The countries are ranked based on statistics from sources such as the Gallup World Poll, which takes into account six main factors: social support, income, health, freedom, generosity, and the lack of corruption.
This year’s list resembles previous rankings from 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2019, with several of the same Nordic countries at the top. Denmark is ranked second, followed by Iceland in third place, as it was in 2022.
The survey examines not only the happiest countries in the world but also the nations in which individuals are the least happy. Afghanistan and Lebanon are also war-torn countries, according to the research. According to the survey, the average life rating in these places is more than five points lower (on a scale of 0 to 10) than in the ten happiest countries.
Wondering about where India stands? While India’s neighbor Nepal ranked 78, China ranked 64, and Pakistan ranked 108, India 126. Bangladesh was seven places higher than India, while Sri Lanka stands five places higher at 112.
