AFC Asia Cup Qualifiers: Fight breaks out after India defeats Afghanistan 2-1 (VIRAL VIDEO)

After the defeat in the match, three Afghan players approached two Indians and pushing and shoving started between them.

New Delhi: India won against Afghanistan in the AFC Asia Cup Qualifiers. With Sunil Chhetri and Sahal Abdul Samad scoring one goal each, India won with a score of 2-1.

It was not the fantastic goals scored by the players, but an incident that took everyone’s attention. After the defeat in the match, three Afghan players approached two Indians and pushing and shoving started between them.

This escalated into a scuffle and the Indian goal-keeper Gurpreet Singh tried to stop both sides. Soon, he was pushed away and there was a crowd of players indulging in a scuffle with each other. Even the AFC officials were seen running down to the ground to put a halt to the fight. The reason for the scuffle is not known and AFC has not yet given any statement regarding the incident.

Indian team gained three points after winning the Group D game in Kolkata. Sunil Chhetri struck a free-kick goal (85′) but Zubayr Amiri scored back with a free header (88′) and helped Afghanistan equalize. It was Sahal Abdul Samad’s strike (90+2′) that led India to the victory.
