As Dravid exults over Siraj scalping Australian opener on 1st ball, netizens recall ‘Indranagar ka gunda’

The most notable moment that found strong chorus on social media was coach Rahul Dravid’s joyous celebration in the stands. As the former cricketer exulted over Usman’s exit, netizens shared lot of memes, with some even recalling his ‘angry avatar’.

New Delhi: In the opening Test match of Border Gavaskar Trophy, Mohammed Siraj gave Team India its first breakthrough by picking up Australian opener’s wicket. Though, it was a moment for Men in Blue to celebrate early fall of wicket in the opening match but it was Rahul Dravid’s ‘over-excitement’ in the stands that caught the fancy of cricket fans.

How Siraj sent Usman packing

Interestingly, Mohammed Siraj sent the Australian opener Usman Khwaja packing on his first ball of the match. He bowled an outswinger to Khwaja, which hit his pads. Siraj & fellow players made a loud appeal but the Umpire wasn’t convinced.

Following umpire’s refusal to declare him out, Siraj walked upto Rohit Sharma and persuaded him to make an appeal for third empire review.

As the third umpire declared Usman Khwaja out, Team India broke into jubilation and celebration. Usman has been in ominous form lately and his departure was indeed a big wicket. When he departed, the Aussies were just 2/1.

However, the most notable moment that found strong chorus on social media was coach Rahul Dravid’s joyous celebration in the stands. As the former cricketer exulted over Usman’s exit, netizens shared lot of memes, with some even recalling his ‘angry avatar’.

Notably, Dravid had featured in an advertisement ‘Indranagar ka gunda’ which showed his ‘wild side.’
