New Delhi: India and Sri Lanka are scheduled to play against each other in the finals of the Asia Cup for a record eighth time on Sunday.
India reached the finals of Asia Cup 2023 after defeating Pakistan and Sri Lanka within the span of 24 hours, making amends for Asia Cup 2022, where they got eliminated after losing out to the same two teams in the Super 4 round.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka reached the finals and kept their hopes of Asia Cup title defence alive after defeating Pakistan in the last ball thriller on Thursday.
Both teams are firing on all cylinders, with all three departments clicking at the right time.
Interestingly, India has won the Asia Cup trophy one more time than Sri Lanka, i.e. 7 titles to 6 and the defending champions on Sunday, will not just be looking out for a title defence but also to equal team India’s record for the most titles.
