Asia Cup 2023: India drops 3 catches, Nepal steady at 23/0 after 5 overs.

So far, only the hosts Pakistan, have qualified for the next stage of this six-nation tournament.

New Delhi: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first against Nepal in a ‘Group A’ do-or-die match. But, the decision does not seem to fit in well courtesy of Indian Feilders.

India has dropped three catches so far, Iyer and Ishan dropped Bhurtel, while Kohli dropped a sitter of Aasif Sheikh.

Nepal 23/0 (5 overs) : Kushal Bhurtel 12*(11), Aasif Sheikh 7*(19)

Notably, India’s match against Nepal is going to be the last group-stage match for both of the teams. The winning side will join Pakistan in Super 4 from ‘Group A’, while the losing will have to pack their bags for home.

So far, only the hosts Pakistan, have qualified for the next stage of this six-nation tournament. Pakistan defeated Nepal and shared points with India to qualify for the Super 4, forcing the India vs. Nepal match to be a do-or-die clash.

India(1 point), however, will not be much worried as they will be going against the debutante Nepal(0 points) and will be having a comparatively easier challenge than their first match.

India still needs to address its out-of-form top-order, who failed miserably against Pakistan. They will also have to decide who will be taking Bumrah’s spot in the team as the pacer flew back home for the birth of his child.

Nepal, on the other hand, will be looking to perform a miracle and seal the Super 4 spot in their feature in the Asia Cup. With nothing left to lose, they will be coming for an all-out attack against the men in blue.
