New Delhi: The intense drama of India vs Pakistan clashes at Asia Cup 2023, doesn’t seem to be settling down anytime soon as the rain has entered the fray once again, this time on reserve day.
After the first match between the two sides in the tournament got washed away without a single ball being bowled in the second innings, all eyes were on their much-anticipated rematch in the Super 4.
The Super 4 clash on Sunday started with sunny weather despite having a 90 per cent chance of thunderstorms.
Indian batsmen, after being invited to bat first by the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam accepted the invitation with open arms, as they unleashed a lethal attack on the Pakistani bowling unit.
Both the openers, Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubhman Gill (58), launched an all-out attack against their opponents, adding 121 runs for the first wicket in just 16.3 overs.
The match was finally interrupted at the 24.1 over mark, with India at 147 for 2. Despite all the efforts, the match could not resume again for the day and was forced to get postponed to the reserve day.
The play was supposed to resume at 15:00 Hrs, IST, on Monday, but the rain made yet another appearance minutes before the resumption of the game.
