Babita Phogat's sister commits suicide after losing wrestling match
New Delhi: Ritika, the maternal sister of wrestler Geeta and Babita Phogat committed suicide as she could not bear the defeat in the final match of a wrestling tournament. According to media reports, Ritika participated in the state-level sub-junior, junior women, and men wrestling competition at Lohagarh Stadium in Bharatpur from 12 to 14 March.
The final match was played on 14 March, in which Ritika lost the match by one point. After this defeat, Ritika went in shock and then committed suicide.
It is said that Ritika couldn’t bear the shock of the defeat which resulted to taking of the extreme decision of ending her life.

It is being said that Dronacharya Awardee Mahavir Phogat was also present at the tournament.
Ritu has been competing in the ONE Championship while her cousin Vinesh Phogat is an active freestyle wrestler and also one of India’s biggest medal hopes from the Tokyo Olympics.
