New Delhi: BCCI has denied the public viewing of the intra-squad warm-up games which are scheduled to take place at the WACA ahead of the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. The 24/25 season of the Border Gavaskar Trophy has already spiced up owing to the outside chatter that has been going on.
Earlier, a war of words started between the Indian head coach, Gautam Gambhir and former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting which has spiced up the Border Gavaskar Trophy, while making it nasty as well.
According to a report in The West Australian, India will engage in a three-day intra-squad warm-up match at the WACA, scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday. However, the general public won’t be allowed to watch the match as BCCI intervened to keep the stadium under lockdown.
Ricky Ponting said, “in no way my comments on Virat Kohli’s form were a dig at him. Virat is a class player. I was surprised to read the reaction of Gautam Gambhir, he’s quite a prickly character, so I’m not surprised it was him who said something back”. (7News). pic.twitter.com/cwlPg0bSPA

Where is Virat Kohli?
Virat Kohli, who has been the favourite punching bag of the media and fans was the first to arrive at Perth, having arrived in the city on Sunday. However, the former Indian skipper decided to skip the training session which was also described as an optional one.
So far there have been no reasons notified by Kohli as to why Virat decided to skip the practice session in WACA ahead of such a crucial match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024.
Besides Virat Kohli, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also missed the net practice. The likes of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, however, hit the nets, along with wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.
