New Delhi: BCCI released the jersey for the Indian team which will be used for the men’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign. Players in blue will adorn the jersey and will carry the kit sponsored by MPL Sports. On September 15, BCCI dropped a tweet about the pre-order of the jersey and hinted about the new jersey. The launch event took place at 8:00 pm on September 18.

The new jersey is lighter in shade as compared to the shade of blue in the Asia Cup 2022. It seems similar to the kit used in the 2007 T20 World Cup. This is also the third jersey after MPL took over as the official sponsor for the Indian team in 2020.
Sharing the jersey, BCCI wrote, “To every cricket fan out there, this one’s for you. Presenting the all-new T20 Jersey – One Blue Jersey by @mpl_sport. #HarFanKiJersey.”

The jersey continues to have Byju’s logo in the middle with BCCI’s logo on the left and MPL on the right. The arms are covered in dark blue, with a dark blue pattern on the left side of the jersey. The new jersey seems to be brighter as Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Taniya Bhatia pose in it.
The men’s team will play against Australia in a three-match T20I series starting from September 20 in Mohali. Meanwhile, the women’s team is looking out to fight back in ODIs against England after a T20I series loss. This will also mark the last series for legendary pacer Jhulan Goswami.
