BCCI signs Adidas as Indian cricket team’s new kit sponsor

MPL Sports’ three-year contract ended and Adidas succeeded them as the kit sponsor till March 2028.

New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed Adidas as the new kit sponsor for the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams. MPL Sports’ three-year contract ended and Adidas succeeded them as the kit sponsor till March 2028. Indian men’s team will debut their new kits at the World Test Championship Final at The Oval on June 7.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made the announcement on his Twitter handle, while Adidas shared a video on Instagram to announce the partnership. The video shows historic moments in the history of Indian cricket, including winning the World Cups and batters scoring double tons in ODIs. The partnership is set up with the motto of ‘Impossible Is Nothing’.

Neelendra Singh, the General Manager of Adidas India, called it a historic moment and is looking forward to presenting Indian Cricket to the world with ‘high-quality performance products’. Adidas is known for its quality of sports gear and has tie-ups with World Champions Argentina, the All Blacks, Major League Soccer, and other sports teams across the globe. Adidas is taking this opportunity to expand its presence in sports in India.

BCCI had a 15-year partnership with Nike after which MPL Sports took over for three years. Now, Adidas will sponsor the jerseys and kits for about five years.

Indian men’s team will play in the WTC Final against Australia at The Oval, London from June 7 onwards. Indian women’s cricket team is set to play a white ball series with Bangladesh in the coming months, the official announcement is yet to follow.
