New Delhi: In a major setback for Team India, the ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup.

The leading bowler is suffering from serious back stress post injury, reports said. He is unlikely to undergo any surgery but needs at least 4-6 months rest to fully recover.

Bumrah was about to mark a return in the first T20 match against South Africa but couldn’t play the match due to injury. He also didn’t travel to Trivandrum where the match was held. Bumrah had suffered injury against Australia.

According to BCCI statement, India’s premier fast bowler complained of back pain during India’s practice session. The BCCI medical team assessed his health and ruled him out of the game.

Bumrah had missed the Asia Cup tournament due injury and was brought back in the series against Down Under where he played final 2 games. In one of the games, the pacer looked not in control of his game.
