Cricketer Suryakumar interviews Mumbai locals in disguise, takes feedback ahead of IND Vs LANKA (VIDEO)

When Yadav failed to evince response from public about him, he asked them direct questions about his own performance.

New Delhi: With Cricket World Cup heading to its final stages and the Men in Blue dominating the points chart, cricketer Suryakumar on Tuesday chose to don the role of a cameraman and went on an interview spree in the strees & bylanes of metropolitan city.

The cricketer chose to don a disguise before venturing among the locals. He turned cameraman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) just a day ahead of India’s match against Sri Lanka. For concealing his identity & tattoos, Yadav also put on a full shirt and also wore a mask & hat.

Subsequently, Yadav ventured out to Mumbai’s famed marine drive for direct heart-to-heart conversation with the common people & cricket fans. Notably, Yadav’s adventure comes just a day ahead of Team India’s clash with Sri Lanka in the group stage game.

The unique experiment by the cricketer was taken in jest and also well received by the people, as they looked more than ready to share their feedback/review of Team India’s performance in the ongoing World Cup. For the uninitiated, Team India has remained unbeaten in the tournament so far and is the current table topper.

What Yadav conversed with fans

Much like his on-field performance, the Indian batter also achieved success in disguising his look. People couldn’t recognize the cricketer in ‘new avatar’ and engaged in free-wheeling conversation with him, only to realize later that they were talking to cricketer in person.

Yadav posed some questions about the Team India and enquired the public about its performance. Many spoke about their favourite cricketers including Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma & Jasprit Bumrah while others wished the team good luck in tournament ahead.

How fans reacted

When Yadav failed to evince response from public about him, he asked them direct questions about his own performance.

One of the fans said he expected Yadav to bat little up the order while other said that it was a joy to watch Surya on field as he uses his wrist to best effect. At this point, Suryakumar lifts his veil and reveals his identity, leaving the fan shell-shocked. The cricketer also clicked pictures with the fans.

Suryakumar has done considerably well in the team’s group stage matches. In match against England, he steered the team to good total when the entire top order collapsed. His gritty 49 off 47 balls took India past 200 runs.

Eventually, India registered a 100 run victory over England.
