Don’t bowl NO or wide balls, else be ready to play under new skipper: MSD’s warning to CSK bowlers (VIDEO)

New Delhi: The thrilling match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) & Lucknow Super Giants at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday, turned in former’s favour as it got the better of its rival by 12 runs. However, the CSK skipper MS Dhoni wasn’t impressed with his side’s performance and made it quite clear during the presentation ceremony.

Calling out the slack bowling & number of extras by CSK bowlers, the skipper had a strong warning for his teammates, bowlers in particular.

He asked the CSK bowlers to keep check on bowling extras and warned them with a smile, “Improve your stats else be ready to play under new captain”

Notably, the CSK bowlers, in yesterday’s match against Lucknow Super Giants, bowled 13 wide balls and 3 no balls, thus giving KL Rahul-led LSG much leeway & advantage in the game. However, they fell short of the target & lost by 12 runs.

In the high-scoring match, CSK scored 217/7 in 20 overs while LSG managed to attain 205/7 runs in 20 overs. CSK bowlers conceded at least 18 extras but the big target helped them save the day.

CSK bowlers gave 18 runs in extras which included leg-byes ( 2), wide balls – (13) & No balls (3). In CSK’s first match against Gujarat Titans also, they gave away 12 runs in Extras (lb 6, w 4, nb 2).
