New Delhi: Every other day we witness a lot of fake messages go viral on social media. Over the last few days, fake news about the life of wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik, who is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), are being widely shared online.
So we decided to do the fact check of these messages to tell you the truth behind them.
When you spread misinformation, it’s malicious. The language reeks of sensationalism and there is no truth to so many of the things here.

Before we dive into details, you must know a few incidents in Dinesh Karthik’s life that gave birth to the fake news.
Dinesh made his debut in the Indian cricket team in the year 2004. His career was on the rise around 2007. This was the time when he married his childhood friend Nikita Vanzara.
According to reports, Dinesh was doing captaincy for the Tamil Nadu team in the Ranji Trophy in 2009. It is reported that he was a good friend of Tamil Nadu’s opener Murali Vijay.
Karthik lost his wife to Vijay as she was in love with him. In 2012, Karthik decided to divorce Nikita. Meanwhile, she was also pregnant.
Karthik lost his captaincy to Murli Vijay?
A viral post claims Dinesh Karthik was removed as a caption of Tamil Nadu and was succeeded by Murli Vijay. But, the reality is that Lakshmipathy Balaji led the team after Karthik.
In 2011, DK was succeeded by Balaji as TN captain and not Vijay. In fact, earlier, DK had taken over from Vijay after he became a regular in the Indian side. Does Karthik become alcoholic and think about suicide?
Being a human Dinesh Karthik got hurt after her wife cheated on him. However, we must tell you that he has been playing IPL since 2008. During his bad days, his friend Abhishek Nayar supported him a lot by travelling with him for his matches at different places.
