During an online YouTube podcast of Shubhankar Mishra called "Unplugged", Amit revealed that even though the feud between Virat and Gambhir was the internet hot topic, it was indeed Gautam who went ahead and tried to sort things out with Kohli. "Virat Kohli didn't go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked 'How are you, how's your family.'..." Mishra reckons that it should have been the other way around and Kohli should have been the one to go to Gambhir.
