New Delhi: IPL 2023’s last night match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was a super-thrilling match with the last ball deciding the fate of game. However, more than the face-off, it was Gautam Gambhir’s arrogant behavior on field that grabbed camera’s attention and hogged more headlines than LSG recording last-ball victory over the RCB at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The former cricketer may argue that his team’s successful chase of the near-impossible target made him celebrate ‘wildly’ on the field but his ‘finger on the lips’ gesture has clearly not gone down well with the RCB fans.

RCB vs LSG on April 10 proved to be one of the most high-octane matches, which saw a big target of 214 runs and then several twists & turns in the run-chase, eventually ending into a cliffhanger. Batting first, RCB put a big total of 212 runs on the scoreboard while KL Rahul-led LSG chased down the target and crushed former’s dreams by beating them on the last ball of match.
This came despite the LSG losing 3 quick wickets during powerplay. Nicholas Pooran’s blitzkrieg and Marcus Stoinis’s powerful knock brought the LSG back into home, however, dismissal of Ayush Badoni at the fag end again threatened to ruin its chances but the last over drama saw it wining the game. LSG was declared winner of the match by 1 w2icket.
The victory of LSG over RCB, their first in past 3 encounters, sent the team into jubilant mood. KL Rahul along with team celebrated but it was Gambhir’s aggressive gesture that set the internet on fire.
In the viral video, Gambhir is also reportedly seen hurling some mouthful at the fans while putting a finger on his lips to silence the crowd.
The animated celebration was followed by Gambhir crossing past RCB’s Virat Kohli and was seen giving an intense look while shaking hands.
Though, this is not the first time that such ‘wild celebration’ by Gambhir took the social media by storm. His similar act during last-ball win over KKR went viral on the internet, last year also and had seen several memes taking over the social media.
