New Delhi: Hardik Pandya, the newly appointed captain of Mumbai Indians franchisee may miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season due to injury, reports said.
A leading portal, citing sources claimed that Hardik Pandya would miss the 17t h season due to ankle injury.
The development has meant a heartbreak for Pandya’s fans but Rohit Sharma’ fans would certainly be rejoicing and this is quite evident on the social media. Team India skipper’s fans & followers have taken over the X (formerly Twitter) and inundated the space with wave of memes & emojis.
The gleeful and joyfulness among Rohit Sharma’s fans is apparently because of his disgraceful exit as the skipper of IPL’s most successful franchisee. Earlier this month, Mumbai Indians had announced importing Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans and then a couple of days later, it emerged that hitman would be replaced as skipper too.
The insult and ignominy to Rohit Sharma, who led the franchisee to more than five title victories, was unbearable for his fans and they made it apparent then also.

For the uninitiated, Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL auction.
Mumbai Indians ‘imported’ him as part of all-cash deal. In case of Pandya’s unavailability, this would be a big blow to Mumbai Indians but it still would have option to trade in players in form of cash deal or player swap.
Pandya also missed the recent white-ball leg of South Africa tour as well as T20 series against Australia.
