In world class competiton, Haldwani shooters bring home 20 gold medals

In a world shooting competition held at Jaspal Shooting range of Dehradun, 26 shooters of Haldwani-based Astra Sastra Vidya Academy won the hearts of the audience and the judges by defeating many competitors from other states.

New Delhi: In a world shooting competition held at Jaspal Shooting range of Dehradun, 26 shooters of Haldwani-based Astra Sastra Vidya Academy won the hearts of the audience and the judges by defeating many competitors from other states.

According to Trilok Singh, the director of the academy, a total of 26 shooters took part in the shooting competition. They won 20 gold medals, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

In the 10 m individual Air Rifle competition, players won 12 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze. In the 50 m competition, 8 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze were bagged. In the 25 m pistol competition, 3 silver and 3 bronze were clinched.

In the championship, the member of Uttarakhand Forest Panchayat Committee Consultation Ganesh Joshi, who also plays for the academy, participated and bagged a silver medal.

On his spectacular performance, the committee’s senior members such as Kamal Sunal, Devendra Pandey, Praveen Chandra, Devendra Singh Kathayat, Arjun Rana, Gopal Bhandari, Bhavana Pandaliya, Leela Mehra, Asha Sharma, and Radha Bist congratulated him.
