IND v PAK Asia Cup 2022: Pakistan wins nail-biting game chasing 181

New Delhi: India won the group stage match against Pakistan, but the conditions and the situation were different this time. With a lot of injuries and changes, there were different playing XIs on the field in Dubai. The teams still looked equal on paper but Pakistan managed to take home the victory as Mohammad Rizwan along with Nawaz chased down 181.

India started well with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul going big in the powerplay. Virat Kohli anchored the inning but the wickets fell from the other end. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz prove to be a good spin duo for Pakistan and Naseem and Harris end the inning well. Another fifty for Kohli and it is a sign that the king is back.

In the second inning, Babar was dismissed for 14 and India looked in control as Ravi Bishnoi led the attack. It was a special 42 off 20 balls by Mohammad Nawaz who was promoted up the order. Rizwan, who is in tremendous form scored a 71 off 51 to crush the Indian bowling lineup. It was a close game with 7 needed off the last over. Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah held the nerves and won Pakistan the game.

Team news

India: Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out of the tournament due to an injury in the right knee. He has to undergo a major surgery, which has also put a question mark on his inclusion in the T20 World Cup. He has been replaced by Axar Patel in the squad, who is a left-arm finger-spinning all-rounder like Jadeja.

Pakistan: Pacer Shahnawaz Dahani complained of a side strain during the game against Hong Kong. He has been ruled out of the India-Pakistan encounter due to the injury.
