However, regular wickets kept hurting India as they were unable to break out of shackles.

In the end, Surya Kumar Yadav (49) fought bravely to take India to a total of 229.

David Willey was England’s best bowler of the day, with 3 wickets under his name, Adil Rashid and Mark Wood got 2, while Mark Wood also got 1.

He is well-complimented by his opening partner, Subhman Gill, who is also getting good starts but has failed to convert his starts into big innings.

In the middle order, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul is giving back-to-back match-winning innings, taking the headache of India’s batting concerns away.

Jasprit Bumrah and the spinners have also performed extremely well, providing the team with crucial breakthroughs.

Md. Shami who made his return to the squad in the last match, took fifer on his first match back, giving India another rock-solid addition in already dangerous-looking bowling line-up.

On the other hand, nothing has gone right for the defending champions, as they have lost 5 out of their 5 matches and are currently the bottom-ranked team in the points table.

The match on Sunday, will be England’s last hope to stay in the competition as a loss at this point would eventually mean their exit from the tournament.

The three lions need to play sensible yet fearless cricket if want to get one over the men in blue, who at the current stage looks like are going to run away with the title with no problem whatsoever.

India and England have locked horns against each other 8 times in the World Cup previously with the English team getting the win in 4, while India winning in three.

One match between the two sides ended in a tie in 2011 World Cup, which the men in blue eventually ends up winning after beating Sri Lanka in the finals.
