New Delhi: The Indian cricket team, after getting a hard-fought series draw against Proteas in South Africa, is now ready to host the English Lions in the Anthony de Mello trophy series in India, starting January 25.

The series will consist of five test matches, which will begin with the first test match on January 25 and will conclude on March 11, making the official time period of the series 47 days long.

Notably, the series is going to be very important for the teams as the five-match series can prove vital in the World Test Championship points table, with the Indian team looking to most of the home advantage, while the English team who is struggling in the WTC points table will be looking to make a turnaround in their fate with this series.

Notably, the Three Lions were the last team to win a test series in India 11 years ago, in 2013.

Both teams suffered a huge blow before the first match as their star players withdrew from the series, citing personal reasons. For India, Virat Kohli has opted out of the first two games, while for the English side, Harry Brook has withdrawn from the whole tour.

England has announced Dan Lawrence as Brook’s replacement while the wait for Kohli’s replacement continues.
