New Delhi: The Netherlands played its first T20I game against India and lost by 56 runs. India was the favourite to win the clash and fifties from captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav laid the foundation for it. A collective bowling effort from all the bowlers stopped the Netherlands for just 123/9 against India’s 179/2. Not just two points, this also means a big boost for India’s net run rate, just in case, India has some bad days in future.
The Netherlands started well by dismissing KL Rahul early but Rohit Sharma showed some class. It was the partnership between Kohli and Surya that defined the game this evening. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel picked two wickets each while Shami picked one.
