New Delhi: India A is set to tour Australia before the start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the 15-member India A squad for the tour of Australia, BCCI announced on Monday. India A will play two first-class matches against Australia A in Mackay and Melbourne respectively and then take part in a three-day intra-squad game against Team India (Senior Men) in Perth.

The five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy begins on November 22 in Perth. Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will host the other four Tests. Although the squad had all the expected names who would have been part of the side owing to their recent performances all eyes will be on Ishan Kishan.
Ishan Kishan will be a vital cog of the team who returned to the India A setup after being dropped from the BCCI central contracts. The left-hand batsman had decided to skip the domestic season for thick payments in the IPL. Kishan was last part of the India squad during the tour of South Africa in 2023. Post that there was a huge feud with the board. Now, it seems the left-hander is making amends for his past mistakes and got his place back in the national side.
