New Delhi: On a batting-friendly track of St. Lucia, India lost a good toss and was forced to bat. After the initial hiccups from the wicket of Virat Kohli, India cemented their position to get a quick start against the Aussies. The architect of this inning has been Rohit Sharma who butchered the Australian quicks as well as the spinners.

India is currently at 114/2 with Sharma nearing a well-deserved century! The next step is can Sharma’s theatrics help his team reach a score past 200. Given the surface and the power-hitting capability within the Australian lineup, 200 seems to be a safe score for the men in blue.

As Virat’s poor form continued in the game against Australia, Rohit made sure that there was no drought in the run flow. Rohit was well supported by Rishab Pant and both batsmen stitched a useful partnership. Sharma (8 sixes) also became the leading six-hitter in the T20 WC overcoming Yuvraj Singh’s 7 sixes against England.
