India vs Bangladesh T20 Series- Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson return, however no place for…

After a gap of more than a month, white-ball cricket returns once again to the Indian cricketing circuit as India is scheduled to play a 3-match t20 series against Bangladesh.

New Delhi: After a gap of more than a month, white-ball cricket returns once again to the Indian cricketing circuit as India is scheduled to play a 3-match t20 series against Bangladesh. The T20I series will see skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson all returning to white-ball cricket. However, Shubman Gill and Rishab Pant will most likely not be a part of the T2oI series due to the Test matches scheduled till December.

However, there were some surprises as well in the selection race. With Pant concentrating on test cricket for this season, Sanju Samson earns the call as the backup wicketkeeper. But there was no inclusion of Ishan Kishan in the side. Instead of Kishan, Vidarbha-born wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma is believed to be leading the race for backup wicketkeeper.

Kishan has been included in the Rest of the India squad for the upcoming Irani Trophy which suggests a possible delay in his return to international cricket. Meanwhile, players from the recent Zimbabwe tour will also be given consideration. This could mean the return of players like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma who have been in red-hot form in the Zimbabwe series.

Gaikwad will be leading the Rest of India’s team and will probably be facing a short scheduling dilemma which he has to solve given that the Irani Cup and Bangladesh T20I might clash. All-rounder Hardik Pandya will also return after the Sri Lankan series. Pandya will be joined by players like Rinku Singh, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravi Bishnoi who all made their mark in the Zimbabwe series.

The T20I series is starting on October 6 in Gwalior. Subsequently, the second T20I is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on October 9th. Furthermore, the third T20I will take place in Hyderabad on October 12.
