The right-hand batsman sustained an injury to his hand which has ruled him out of the Duleep Trophy set to start on September 5. Suryakumar Yadav who recently played the Buchi Babu Invitational for Mumbai against TNCA XI had missed the last day's play due to the hand injury and did not come out to bat. Surya was set to play for the India C team against India D at Ananthapur scheduled to start from September 5th to September 8th. Earlier, Surya had expressed his desire to return to red-ball cricket.
