
New Delhi: BCCI suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) for this season on Tuesday after four people from different franchises tested positive in one day. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals’ spinner were the latest addition to this list of people testing positive in the tournament.

Two players from the camp of Kolkata Knight Riders tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on Sunday, due to which BCCI postponed the Monday’s match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chennai Super Kings announced on Tuesday that their bowling coach Balaji and one of the transportation staff had tested positive for the virus forcing the entire team to go under a six-day quarantine.
Wriddhiman Saha
Later on Tuesday it was reported that wicketkeeper-batsman of Sunrisers Hyderabad has also tested positive and the entire team has gone into isolation.

Along with Saha, news of Delhi Capitals’ spinner Mishra testing positive also came out, forcing the BCCI to suspend the tournament indefinitely.
Many people were already concerned with the tournament and were appealing the board to stop the tournament due to the ongoing second wave of the virus across the country. India recorded 3,57,229 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday with 3,449 deaths.
