IPL 2021 TEASER featuring Dhoni in military uniform sets the mood for cricket carnival (WATCH)

Ahead of the cricket carnival, the IPL management has launched a teaser featuring MS Dhoni in military uniform. In the video, Dhoni could be seen visiting the boys in a the ‘dressing room’ and giving them some tips on winning the coveted tournament.

New Delhi: The 14th edition of Indian Premiere League (IPL) is set to get underway from April 4. The season will kick-start with a high-octane clash between Chennai Superkings and Mumbai Indians.

Ahead of the cricket carnival, the IPL management has launched a teaser featuring MS Dhoni in military uniform. In the video, Dhoni could be seen visiting the boys in a the ‘dressing room’ and giving them some tips on winning the coveted tournament.

Dhoni advises boys to be like Virat

Dhoni could also be seen citing Virat Kohli’s example and asking boys to be aggressive and combative like him. The video is a good mood-lifting exercise before the cricketing extravaganza kicks off from April 9.

It may be noted that MS Dhoni holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA battalion).

IPL 2020 video had Dhoni, Virat & Pant

Last year also, the IPL launched promotional video for the cash-rich T20 league. The clip featured MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, all of whom are popular names in the T20 championship.

The official IPL Twitter handle captioned the video and wrote, “The stage is set and the banter is On Ahead of the #VIVOIPL 2020, keep the banter coming and get set for March 29, jab #KhelBolega on @StarSportsIndia and Hotstar! The @Vivo_India IPL Carnival begins soon,”


VIVO IPL schedule for 2021

This year, the IPL extravaganza will take place in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata. The World’s Largest Cricket Stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Playoffs as well as the final on 30th May, 2021 which promises to be a visual spectacle..

Each team is set to play at four venues during the league stage. Out of the 56 league matches, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata & Bengaluru will host 10 matches each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches each.

One of the highlights of this edition of the VIVO IPL will be the fact that all matches will be played at neutral venues, no team will play at their home venue. All teams will play at 4 out of 6 venues during the league stage.
