IPL 2023 SRH vs RCB: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis talk about their partnership in candid chat (VIDEO)

The batters revealed their chat just before they came in to bat and Faf said that he predicted Virat will get a hundred.

New Delhi: Virat Kohli scored his sixth IPL ton and had a 172-run stand with skipper Faf du Plessis as RCB beat SRH by eight wickets. The batters have been scoring relentlessly this season and have delivered to keep them in the race for the top four spots. Virat and Faf had a candid chat after the game as they cherished the moments that led to the win.

The batters revealed their chat just before they came in to bat and Faf said that he predicted Virat will get a hundred. Talking about it, Kohli said that Faf told him one of the top three batters will get a century and Virat predicted Faf’s name due to his form.

Faf asked him about his intent and Virat said that he had a conversation with Deep and wanted to join the skipper and Glenn Maxwell in the way they have up their game. He added that when he hit two boundaries against Bhuvneshwar Kumar, SRH was on the back foot. Talking about batting on poor wickets in nets, Kohli said that he has done it throughout his career and it boosts him to score runs on good wickets in the game.

Virat asked Faf about his approach this season as compared to the last one where RCB was not doing well. The South African batter replied that he was clear about the game plan. Faf added that he wanted to prepare for IPL but his elbow injury did not allow him to, however, when a cricketer reaches an old age, the player trusts his game.

The friendship between Faf and Virat is known and loved. Talking about their partnerships and chemistry, Faf said that Virat’s energy and passion pumps him up and Virat added that their off-the-field interests in tattoos, watches, and food brought them closer.

In the game, Virat scored 100 off 63, hitting 12 fours and 4 sixes while Faf du Plessis got 71 off 47 while chasing 188 against SRH. For SRH, Henrich Klaasen scored 104 off 51, hitting 8 fours and 6 sixes, but could not get enough support to put up some extra runs on the board. Mohammed Siraj gave just 17 runs in his four overs picking up a wicket while Michael Bracewell got 2 for 13.
