New Delhi: The opening ceremony of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Friday evening will kick-start the month-long tournament and will see 10 teams fighting it out for the coveted trophy.
The grand opening ceremony is set to be a gala event with noted actresses Tamannah Bhatia & Rashmika Mandanna setting the stage on fire with sizzling performances, today evening.
While the 16th edition of IPL creates lot of buzz & excitement owing to first pan-India tournament after Covid restrictions, the fans are looking forward to the opening ceremony as well, where leading musician Arijit Singh and actress Rashmika Mandanna and Tamannah Bhatia will perform in the packed Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
The two actresses, while speaking to newsmen, also revealed the names of their favourite cricketer for the tournament. Both of them confessed their love for the game and named their favourite cricketers.
Chennai SuperKings captain MS Dhoni & Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player Virat Kohli were named by the actresses as their favourite players.

When I watch cricket match, my emotions are topsy-turvy. I only like to see scores. Dhoni sir and Virat sir are my favourites,” Mandhana said.
“Movies and cricket are really close to us. Dhoni is everyone’s favourite and I am no different, Virat also,” Tamannah said.

On Thursday evening, the IPL organizers also shared a video of the actresses doing rehearsals before their performance in the IPL opening ceremony.
The duo shared their excitement of performing LIVE in the ceremony and said they were exhilarated over such a chance to be part of the cricket carnival.

The opening ceremony will be telecast on Television on Star Sports Channel while JioCinema App will stream it LIVE from 6 PM on Friday.
