IPL 2023: ‘Where is Rohit’ trends as MI skipper misses captains’ photoshoot with trophy

While all captains posed around the trophy, Sharma was not seen in the pictures, which led to banter on social media.

New Delhi: As IPL 2023 is set to begin on March 31, captains arrived at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to pose with the trophy. However, Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma was missing from the photo shoot. While all captains posed around the trophy, Sharma was not seen in the pictures, which led to banter on social media.

Narendra Modi Stadium is set to host the first game between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The tournament’s most successful captain’s absence from the pictures raised eyebrows and many questions as there was no official update.

He was seen practicing with the MI camp this morning and probably did not fly to Ahmedabad for the shoot.

Meanwhile, his fans were furious on social media, while some cricket fans shared some hilarious replies to where he could be during the photo shoot.

Some thought he was the one behind the camera.

A Twitter user shared a picture of Rohit Mehra from ‘Koi Mil Gya’ in response to people asking for Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen posing as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, which made it clear that the pacer will be leading the side in absense of Aiden Markram in the initial games. Markram is playing ODIs for South Africa in a three-match series against the Netherlands as the Proteas have their World Cup qualification at stake. He will be missing the opening clash for SRH against Rajasthan Royals on April 2.

The first game between CSK and GT will begin on March 31 at 7:30 pm. Fans at homes can stream the games on Jio Cinema for free and IPL will be telecasted on Star Sports Network.
