Irfan Pathan responds to wife’s blurred photo criticism, says ‘I’m her mate not master’

Irfan is very active on Twitter as he keeps on giving his opinions on current issues like Israel-Palestine conflict, he retweeted some tweets of foreign cricketers on the same issue.

New Delhi: Recently, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan received a lot of criticism and hate tweets over a blurred picture of his wife Safa Baig.  Irfan responded to the critics on Tuesday by sharing the photo posted on his son’s Instagram account. In the photo Safa’s face was blurred which led to a lot of as criticism as people thought that Irfan was not allowing her to reveal her face. Irfan responded on Twitter by saying that it was not his but Safa’s choice to blur her face while emphasizing that he is “her mate not her master.”

Irfan tweeted the picture while captioning it, “This picture is posted by my queen from my son’s account. We are getting lot of hate. Let me post this here as well. She blurred this pic by her choice. And Yes, I’m her mate not her master.”

Irfan and his brother Yusuf have been helping the needy with food, oxygen cylinders, ventilators and oxygen concentrators during the deadly second wave of Covid-19 in India. The brothers’ Pathan Foundation handles all the donations.

Irfan is very active on Twitter as he keeps on giving his opinions on current issues like Israel-Palestine conflict, he retweeted some tweets of foreign cricketers on the same issue. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut criticized him for the tweet on Palestine.

Irfan had himself tested positive for the virus after he played for Indian team led by Sachin Tendulkar in Road Safety World Series 2020-21. He was asymptomatic and recovered while being in the home isolation.
