KL Rahul gets medical clearance from BCCI; ready to lead India against Zimbabwe 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed everyone on Twitter that KL Rahul will lead team India against Zimbabwe on Thursday.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed everyone on Twitter that KL Rahul will lead team India against Zimbabwe on Thursday. India will play ODI against the team Zimbabwe. The announcement came after the cricketer’s name received the green light from the board’s medical team.

Rahul has to undergo a fitness test on August 11 to get the clearance. Earlier, the board had announced that Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team but Rahul has now been appointed as the skipper as Rahul received the clearance to lead the team.

The BCCI has now given the charge of Rahul’s deputy to Shikhar Dhawan. ”The BCCI Medical Team has assessed KL Rahul and cleared him to play in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has appointed him the captain of the side and named Shikhar Dhawan as his deputy,” wrote BCCI in the statement.

The India tour of Zimbabwe will start on August 18 and will end on August 22. The first match will be played on August 18, followed by the second on August 20 and August 22.
