Kohli & Naveen end IPL feud with warm hug in WC match, former hailed for ‘comforting’ Afghan cricketer (VIDEO)

In another heartwarming gesture, King Kohli once again proved his greatness by urging the Delhi crowd not to troll Naveen for his recently ended feud with the star cricketer.

New Delhi: Afgan pacer Naveen-Ul-Haq and Virat Kohli finally buried the hatchet by putting an end to their ugly rivalry with a warm hug during the ICC ODI CWC 2023 encounter between Afghanistan in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.

The controversy between the two erupted back in May 2023 when both cricketers indulged in a heated altercation during an IPL match between Royal Challengers Banglore and Lucknow Super Giants. In the match, Naveen was seen exchanging some heated words with the former Indian captain after RCB defeated his team LSG with a margin of 18 runs.

Following the verbal spat between the two, Naveen further escalated things by taunting Kohli on social media after the latter’s team RCB failed to make it to the playoff of the 16th edition of the IPL.

Ever since this incident, fans have been eagerly waiting to see a spicy on-field face-off between these two international cricketers and the ICC CWC 2023 fixture between India and Afghanistan in Delhi provided them with a perfect opportunity to witness the same.

However, against all the expectations, Kohli and Naveen decided to let bygones be bygones and patched up by sharing a handshake and warm hug during India’s run chase at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. A video of the same is now winning over the internet.

India’s magnificent victory over Afghanistan

Earlier in the night, India went on to crush Afghanistan with 8 wickets to secure its second back-to-back victory in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

After Afghanistan put up a decent total of 273 runs on the board with the help of the impressive knock of Hasmatullah Shahidi, Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma went all guns blazing against the Afghan bowling attack by smashing a magnificent century 131(84) that snatched the game from Afghanistan within first 20 overs of the Indian innings.

Besides Rohit, opener Ishan Kishan 47(47) and Viral Kohli (55*) 56 also impressed the Delhi crowd with their crucial knocks that helped India chase down the target of 273 in just 35 overs to continue its undefeated streak in the tournament.
