New Delhi: The final match of the Thomas Cup 2022 on Sunday started between India vs. Indonesia in Thailand. In the first match, India’s Lakshya Sen defeated Anthony Ginting by 8-21, 21-17, 21-16, giving a lead to India of 1-0.

Congratulations also poured in on the social media platforms for Lakshya’s remarkable win. Notably, team India will try its best to bring home the first gold of the tournament. However, a silver medal is at least confirmed for India.
The match started on at 11:30 AM IST onwards at the pre-decided venue in Thailand’s capital Bangkok.
Earlier, India defeated Germany by 5-0, followed by Canada by 5-0, Malasiya by 3-2 in the quarterfinals, and Denmark by 3-2 in the semi-finals, to secure its place in the final. On the other hand, Indonesia reached the final after thrashing China and Japan in the quarters and semis, respectively.

Another Twitter user namely Siddhi said, ”Lakshya sen was down 3-8 in the decider to win it 21-16, i aspire to have the mental strength this champ has ay 20. FREKING EXTRAORDINARY, 1 up, 2 to go for history.”
