New Delhi: Mahela Jayawardene is re-appointed as the head coach of the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians. The former Sri Lankan skipper was the head coach of the side from 2017 to 2022. Under Jayawardene's guidance, Mumbai had clinched the title on three occasions 2017, 2019 and 2020-21. MI won IPL 2017. MI won IPL 2019. MI won IPL 2020. Under Boucher though MI endured a tough phase as they twice finished bottom of the points table while qualifying for the playoffs just once during his three years in charge.
