“Main aur Dhoni ek kisam ke legends hai…” Shah Rukh Khan draws parallel with Mahendra Singh Dhoni

New Delhi: In a recent interview with Karan Johar, legendary actor and co-owner of KKR, Shah Rukh Khan remarked that the actor and Dhoni both have a similar arch when it comes to career and retirement. The video which became viral on the internet came against the backdrop of the retention rules announced by the BCCI.

Shah Rukh remarked that one of the biggest features of the legends is that they know when to stop the bandwagon. King Khan drew parallels from various sports personalities like the great Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Chhetri—the footballer and Roger Federer—the great tennis star. All of these famous sports personalities have drawn the line when they felt that it was the right time.

Shah Rukh believes that Dhoni also belongs in line with these great stars and feels that Dhoni should also step down from the position. Johar who was listening to the entire conversation very calmly remarked sharply-

Hearing Karan Johar’s sharp comments, Khan remarked-

Actually main doosre kisam ka legendary hoon. Main aur Dhoni ek kisam ke legends hai. Na na kar ke bhi 10 baar IPL khel jaate hai….

Can CSK retain Dhoni for one more season?

According to the rules revealed by the BCCI, franchises can retain 6 players out of which one will be an uncapped player. However, there is an interesting addition to the uncapped player rule.

A capped Indian player becomes uncapped if the player has not played international cricket in the past 5 years preceeding the relevant season in which the auction is to be held…

Going by that logic, CSK has the opportunity to draft Mahendra Singh Dhoni once again for a new season. The question remains whether Chennai brings back Thala once again or not.
