Neeraj Chopra’s gold winning moment at WAC lights up social media, how netizens reacted

Olympic Champion Neeraj becomes the first Indian to ever win gold at World Athletics Championship.

New Delhi: The reigning javelin throw Olympic Champion has now added yet another feather in his cap in the form of the World Athletics Championship gold medal.

Neeraj Chopra who became a household name after winning gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has now given a fresh wind to his career with his latest achievement.

With the help of Neeraj’s heroics India now has medals of all colors in WAC. Neeraj before winning gold this year secured silver at the 2022 WAC.

Neeraj did not have it easy at the finals as his first throw was declared foul giving him a big disadvantage in the beginning. He however made a strong comeback and secured gold with the help of his 88.17m throw in his second attempt.

Neeraj had close competition from Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem (87.82) who won silver and Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch (86.67) who secured the bronze medal.

Soon after Neeraj secured his gold the netizens started to heap praises on the star through the social media platform X (Formerly known as Twitter), From Sports Minister Anurag Thakur to Former cricketer Virendra Sehwag everyone joined hands to congratulate the Golden Boy for his iconic achievement.
