‘Nepotism over Hardwork’- Rahul Dravid’s son Samit Dravid gets a call in the U19 team.

Rahul Dravid’s son, Samit Dravid was selected for the India U-19 squad that is set to play a multi-format series against Australia U19.

New Delhi: Legendary head coach Rahul Dravid’s son, Samit Dravid was selected for the India U-19 squad that is set to play a multi-format series against Australia U19.

The multi-format series will begin with a 3-match ODI series in Puducherry which is scheduled to take place on September 21, 23 and 26. Subsequently, the team will head on to Chennai for 2 four-day matches which begin on September 30 and October 7.

Who is Samit Dravid?

Samit Dravid, son of legendary coach Rahul Dravid is a fast-bowling all-rounder who currently plays for the Mysore Warriors in the ongoing KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy in Bengaluru.

The youngster’s performance has been far from satisfactory at the ongoing KSCA tournament. While with his bat he has just 82 runs from 7 innings (the highest score being 33), Samit’s bowling skills are yet to be unveiled in the tournament.

However, judging by his franchise performance, one must not think that the boy got the chance because he is the son of an Indian legend. Samit underwent the litmus test to prove his worth and merit for the national side. His hard work paid off handsomely as he performed quite well in the recently concluded Cooch Behar Trophy. Samit played a pivotal role in Karnataka’s maiden title win.

With the bat, the 18-year-old scored 362 runs from eight matches. While with the ball he got 16 wickets from 8 matches. Although destiny will tell what the future holds for the youngster, Samit is currently focused only on improving himself day by day so that one day he can play at the level of his father.
