New Delhi: The ongoing T20 World Cup has been full of ups and downs for neighbouring nation Pakistan, and the recent hindrance in its journey came after India lose to their strong opponents South Africa on Sunday evening. In last night’s match played at the Perth Stadium in Australia, India captain Rohit Sharma won the match and elect to bat first. Though it was a troublesome show from the batters in the first innings, with Suryakumar Yadav’s 64 runs taking India’s score to a total of 134.
The target was an easy one for SA to achieve, despite facing some difficulty in the initial overs. However, the blue squad made some impacting errors such as missing on runouts as well as dropping a catch. Owing to scores made by Aiden Markram (52) and David Miller (59), SA won the clash by 5 wickets.
Meanwhile, Pak fans who were rooting for India’s win after losing 2 games in the tournament out of a total of 3, expressed their disappointment on Twitter. While Pak still remains in the WC, their campaign to the semi-finals has indeed suffered a jolt.
