No beef in food menu for participating teams in Cricket World Cup 2023: Report

According to a report, the Pak team for meeting its carbohydrate intake, has demanded steamed basmati rice, spaghetti in Bolognese sauce, a favourite of the great Shane Warne, and vegetarian pulao in its menu.

New Delhi: The ICC’s Men ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to kick off from October 5 and warm-up matches between ten teams of the tournament will begin from tomorrow.

A day ahead of warm-up match, the Men in Green led by Pakistani skipper Babar Azam arrived in Hyderabad last night and received a rapturous reception at the airport. As they remain stationed in plush hotels of Hyderabad hotels, wide range of culinary dishes will be prepared for them. Their table spread includes grilled lamb chops, mutton curry, the hugely popular Hyderabadi biryani, butter chicken and grilled fish.

However, they won’t be served beef. Rather, not just Pakistan, none of the teams participating in the grand event will have access to beef in their food menu.

Yesterday, the Pakistani team was given a rousing reception at the Hyderabad airport. Scores of people were lined up at the airport to welcome the cricketing icon Babar Azam & his team. The grand welcome also left the Pak players overwhelmed with emotion.

More teams are set to land in India soon, as the countdown for the cricketing extravaganza has already begun.

Pakistan is set to play its first warm-up match against New Zealand on Friday and then Australia on Tuesday. Their world cup campaign will begin with first encounter with New Zealand on October 6.

For the upcoming cricketing spectacle, lakhs of cricket fans will also make a beeline for India and will be attending various ODI matches as audience. They won’t have any food restriction though and can explore anything & everything on offer in the restaurants.
