Pandya’s gesture before ‘wicket-taking ball’ sets tongue wagging on social media

New Delhi: While arch rivals India and Pakistan take on each other at the Narendra Modi stadium, a photo of Hardik Pandya has gone viral on social media and has set tongues wagging.

Pandya claimed the wicket of Imam-ul-Haq, at a time when the latter looked threatening and was intensifying his knock. A photo of Hardik Pandya is drawing many reactions from netizens.

Many users are claiming that he recited some mantra before the wicket-taking delivery, with some even asking which was the mantra.

A couple of others, apparently Pakistani handles are alleging that the Indian cricketer resorted to spitting the ball for gaining advantage over rival team.

In the high-voltage World Cup match, Pakistan started the game on a brisk note and made a good start by hitting boundaries & playing good knocks. However, the moment was short-lived as Pakistan lost wickets in quick succession.
