Sen who is the BWF rank 19 visibly struggled during the match against Julien Carraggi. Lakshya thought that the game would be a walk in the park as he looked to close the game with ease. However, Carraggi made sure that the game did not go in favour of the Indian shuttler easily. The first game eventually ended in favour of the Indian shuttler as he closed the game with a scoreline of 21-19.
In the second game, Sen took an unassailable lead of 11-4. Julien tried to make a comeback in the dying minutes of the game. However, it was too little too late as Lakshya managed to win the game 21-14 in the second set.

According to experts, the ‘over-dependence on Harmanpreet Singh’ is one of the major reasons for the shaky performance of the Indian team in the competition. Against tough opposition like Belgium and Australia, Craig Fulton’s boys will require some sort of innovation during the penalty corners which has majorly hovered around their captain Harmanpreet Singh affair.
