New Delhi: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty which was scheduled to take place today at noon today has been cancelled. The ‘baddie boys’ were scheduled to play against the German pairing of Markus Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel.
However, a knee injury to Lamfuss forced the German to bow down out of the competition. Satwik/Chirag will next play against Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto from Indonesia.
We hope Mark gets better soon. 🙏

The injury also meant that the match against Mark and Marvin stands null and void. While this result did not cause any problems for the Indian duo, qualification remains a big question for the French duo of Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar.
The official statement was- “Lamsfuss’ and teammate Marvin Seidel‘s remaining Group C matches against India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty (Court 3, 8.30am local time, 29 July 2024) and Lucas Corvee/Ronan Labar of France (Court 1, ‘Not Before’ 2.50pm local time, 30 July 2024) will not be played.”
Lakshya’s qualification under the radar
Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen could also see his qualification under the axe as the match against Kevin Cordon of Guatemala has been cancelled after Cordon pulled out of the tournament. This means that the first match of Lakshya will be null and void even after the Indian shuttler’s hard win over the Guatemalan.
🇮🇳🚨 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝘆𝗮! Kevin Cordon withdraws from #Paris2024 due to an elbow injury, virtually “deleting” Lakshya Sen’s victory over him.
🏸 The deletion means that Lakshya’s win over Kevin Cordon won’t count towards the standings and also means that… pic.twitter.com/wvEusDVlIP
