RCB’s latest acquisition Cameron Green, shares his views for the first time after being traded

Cameroon Green was traded to RCB, in a shocking move after named in the retention list by the Mumbai Indians.

New Delhi: The biggest cricket carnival of India, i.e., the Indian Premier League (IPL), is back in headlines ahead of its mini-auction for the 2024 season.

BCCI asked all ten teams to submit their final retention list by November 26, 4 p.m. IST, and the subsequent list was announced later to the public.

The names of the traded players were also revealed along with the retention list. Still, in a shocking move of late trade, MI traded Australian all-rounder Cameron Green to RCB, in order to trade in Hardik Pandya from the Gujrat Titans.

Cameron Green was bought by the MI management in the 2023 IPL mini-auction for Rs 17.50 crore, and he will now be receiving the same amount of money from the RCB management for the 2024 season.

Cameron Green shares his views

The Australian all-rounder, on Monday through RCB’s X (Formerly known as Twitter) page shared a video, to give his take for the first time after being traded by RCB.

The video shared by RCB was captioned, “Bengaluru’s Greenery, Green’s monstrous hits – time to make safety helmets at the Cubbon Park mandatory. You’ll enjoy the love of the best fans in the world, Greeny!”

Through the video, Green said, “Hey RCB fans, it is Cam Green here, I am excited to join Andy Flower. I can’t wait to see you guys at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, cheers”

Mumbai Indians’ message

The five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians also shared a farewell message to their traded player, by thanking him for the moments he shared with the team.

“Goodbyes are never easy. But with a heavy heart, we, the MI Paltan, thank Cameron Green for all the wonderful memories he gave us in the Blue and Gold through the 2023 IPL. He has been traded from Mumbai Indians to Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the 2024 Auction. Let’s take a moment to reprise his back-to-back fifties against SRH and Punjab Kings, his quickfire 26-ball 44 in the iconic chase against Rajasthan Royals, and of course, his century in the final league game to carry MI into the play-offs,” said the five-time champions through their website.

After being brought by MI in the 2023 IPL auction, Cameron Green played as a regular player for the team, featuring in all of their 16 matches, scoring a massive 452 runs in the season. He also collected 6 scalps for the side.
