New Delhi: Rishabh Pant, Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter is receiving flak for his poor form in the white ball cricket but the cricketer seems not in a mood to accept the criticism coming his way.

The cricketer in an interview to Harsha Bhogle ahead of 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand lost his cool when he was quizzed about the same by cricket commentator. He said that his performance in red ball cricket has been good and all that needs to be taken into account before assessing anyone’s performance. He also told Harsha that comparing him with fellow players was not the right thing to do.

Rishabh Pant, in conversation with Harsha Bhogle, also opened about his preferences for batting in the ODI as well T20. He said that he would like to bat at No 4 or 5 in the ODIs while in the shortest format of game, he would prefer opening the innings for India.

Pant’s poor performances in last few matches has prompted cricket fans to vent anger & disappointment on social media. He was also ‘advised’ by many netizens when his & actress Urvashi Rautela’s alleged relationship became public.

What Rishabh said

Harsha Bhogle: I posed same question to Sehwag, a few years ago. Looking at you, we get the feeling that white-ball cricket is your USP but it’s your Test record that is better..

Rishabh Pant: “Sir, record toh ek number hai. Mera white-ball record bhi kharab nahi hai. Thik hai T20 ka…

Harsha Bhogle: I am not terming your white-ball record but just comparing….

Rishabh Pant: Comparison does not make sense. I am just 24-25 years, if you want to do it sir, can do it when I turn 30-32. Before that, it does not make sense to me.”

Pant’s comments, coming before the 3rd ODI between India-New Zealand hasn’t done any favour. Rather, he is getting much flak on social media as he is the vice-captain for ODI series and India is already trailing by 1-0.
