Rishabh Pant injury update: Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate gives positive update on the left-hander’s knee injury

Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate is confident that the left-hander will be able to make a comeback in the 2nd test against New Zealand.

New Delhi: Rishabh Pant who has become a vital cog of the national side missed a part of the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru due to a knee injury. However, assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate is confident that the left-hander will be able to make a comeback in the 2nd test against New Zealand.

Although Pant is not 100% fit to make a comeback, the left-hander is doing everything possible in his hands to return to full fitness. Now, it looks like he is set to make a comeback in the 2nd test. The possibility of Dhruv Jurel donning the keeping gloves in place of Pant remains an option. But given the ball-striking ability of Pant, it is unlikely that Gambhir would want to rest his trump card from the test match at such a crucial time when WTC qualifications are on the line.
