Row over Rohit Sharma’s dismissal: Was he out or not? Samson’s act creates suspicion (VIDEO)

It didn’t turn out to be a good day for the swashbuckling cricketer as got out at just 3 runs, however, the manner in which he was declared out gave cricket fans enough reason to question & corner the IPL organizers.

New Delhi: Last night was a special moment for many cricket lovers as Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals was the 1000th game of Indian Premier League (IPL) and the cricketer Rohit Sharma was celebrating his 36th birthday.

However, the special night got mired in controversy over suspicious & doubtful dismissal of Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma.

It didn’t turn out to be a good day for the swashbuckling cricketer as got out at just 3 runs, however, the manner in which he was declared out gave cricket fans enough reason to question & corner the IPL organizers.

Rohit was dismissed for just 3 runs by Sandeep Sharma on last ball of the second over. While tackling the ball, Rohit tried to flick it away but missed it completely. As the bails went off, Rohit was declared out. But, later a slow-motion video emerged on social media, which showed Rohit missing the ball completely and his bat not finding any connect with the ball. It was apparently due to the actions of wicket-keeper Sanju Samson that the bails went off. In first instance, it seems that his gloves hit the bails following which latter fell to the ground.

VIDEO & how fans reacted

The video is finding strong traction on social media as the oversight of umpire is clearly seen here.

Rohit’s dismissal disappointed fans but the match ended on a good note for MI. It won the 1,000th match of IPL by 6 wickets. It was on back of heroics of Tim David that the MI won the match. He smashed hat-trick of sixes in the final over, thus snatching victory from the RR.
