SA vs IND, Second Test: Mohammed Siraj silences critics by punishing South Africa in Cape Town, netizens react

Siraj

New Delhi: Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj wreaked havoc on the South African batting lineup, getting 6 wickets in a matter of 6 overs in the ongoing second test between India and South Africa at the Newlands Cricket Ground.

After South African captain Dean Elger won the toss and decided to make India field first, Siraj punished the proteas’ batting unit in an unforgiving manner and dismissed 6 South African batsmen in the very first session of the game.

Besides Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar also shined and assisted Siraj in his offensive by claiming two wickets each, breaking the backbone of the green and gold team.

As a result, team India managed to bowl out Dean Elgar’s on a small total of 55 (23.2 overs) runs in Day 1’s very first season of the game, getting a significant edge over them in the process.

Siraj’s heroic spell is now being hailed by the fans who are taking to social media and sharing epic reactions to the same.

Siraj silences the critics

For the unversed, India is currently trailing in the two-match test series by 1-0 after receiving a crushing defeat by innings & 32 runs against the hosts in the first test match that was played in Centurion last week.

During the game, Siraj failed to impress with the ball and only managed to take 2 wickets in the first innings. He faced heavy criticism for his forgettable performance in the match and many even raised questions on his selection in the team’s playing 11.

However, with today’s magical spell, the right-arm fast pacer has given a buffeting reply to his critics, becoming one of the top contenders for man of the match if India manages to win the game and level the series by 1-1.
